生甲斐

ikigai

In Japanese, it means "my reason for getting up in the morning."  Finding one's ikigai (ee-ki-guy) requires a great deal of soul-searching, but once discovered, it brings tremendous satisfaction and meaning to life.

My ikigai?  I live for many things, but capturing life with a camera has given me a reason to get out of bed in the morning since I was a small child.

Each of my photographs represents a second in my life...an everyday moment that captures a specific thought, emotion or feeling.  It is these everyday moments throughout our lives that ultimately form the foundation of who we are...how we live our lives, who we become, what we believe in, who we love, the paths we take, the paths we don’t, and how we choose to make a difference in the world.
